This is because the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, forbade prayer after <em>Subh<\/em> until after the sun had risen, and after <em>\u2018Asr<\/em> until the sun had set, and prostration is part of the prayer. So no one should recite any piece of Qur\u2019an requiring a prostration during these two periods of time.\u201d (The <em>Muwatta\u2019<\/em> of Imam Malik ibn Anas)<\/p>\n\n\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Mudawwanah<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>(He said): So I said: \u201cThen if he recites [<em>ayats<\/em> of <em>sajda<\/em>] after <em>\u2018Asr<\/em> or after <em>Subh<\/em> should he prostrate them?\u201d (He said): \u201cIf he recites them after <em>\u2018Asr<\/em> and the sun is pure white without any yellowness entering, I think he should prostrate them, but if yellowness has entered it I do not think he should prostrate them. If he recites them after <em>Subh<\/em> and [the dawn] is not yet light, then I think he should prostrate them but if it has become light I do not think he should prostrate them.\u201d (Then he said): \u201cDon\u2019t you see that the <em>janaza<\/em>s are prayed over as long as the sun has not altered or it has become light after the <em>salah<\/em> of <em>Subh<\/em>? It is similar with the <em>sajda<\/em> in my view.\u201d (Malik said): \u201cThere is no harm in a man reciting [an <em>ayat<\/em> of]<em> sajda<\/em> after <em>Subh<\/em> as long as it has not become light and after <em>\u2018Asr<\/em> as long as the sun has not altered and in his prostrating it. Then if it becomes light or the sun alters, then I dislike that he recite it.
